The catamaran handling course provides practical skills essential for independently captaining this type of watercraft. Catamarans differ from monohull yachts primarily in stability and width, which requires specific techniques for handling, mooring, and using the wind.
Throughout the training, you will gradually enter the world of catamarans: from precise manoeuvres in tight harbours to practical exercises — approaching jetties, leaving harbour, working at low speed, and reacting to wind and current.
Taking over the catamaran, time to get to know the crew, divide responsibilities on board and get into the sailing rhythm of the expedition.
Regular flights between the islands, during which you will practice steering a catamaran, working with ropes, and precision manoeuvres, all under the watchful eye of an instructor.
You will hone your catamaran handling skills, manoeuvring in port and at sea, as well as crew cooperation and making quick decisions on the waves.
Every task brings you closer to independently and confidently piloting the aircraft.
We moor in charming seaside towns, discovering local cuisine in taverns and sharing experiences in a friendly crew atmosphere.
You practice docking, entering and leaving port, turning in confined spaces, and working with the crew on lines and engines. Each manoeuvre teaches you control of the catamaran, anticipation of water and wind movements, and confidence in the most demanding situations.
After a week of training, each participant leaves with confidence and practical skills. No experience is required. Each catamaran is skippered by an experienced instructor who is responsible for safety and navigation. You decide the extent to which you wish to participate in steering and manoeuvring the vessel.
This is a standard situation. We select a flatmate from the group of participants, ensuring a suitable match for the double cabin. You can also register as a pair with a friend.
This is a communal cash pool collected by the crew at the start of the cruise. It covers the group's shared running expenses: fuel used during the cruise, port mooring fees, and provisions for the yacht (breakfasts, snacks, dinners).
We sail on modern yachts. These are fully equipped vessels (kitchen, toilets, showers), ensuring comfort and independence during a week-long cruise.
Travel to the marina in Greece is at your own expense. We offer assistance and guidance with booking flights, coaches, and other tickets for anyone who requires it.
The training is intended for individuals who already have basic sailing experience or are planning to charter a catamaran and want to feel more confident during harbour manoeuvres.
Yes. Each participant has the opportunity to practically steer the catamaran, approach the quay, depart, turn on the spot, and operate in reverse, all under the supervision of an instructor, of course.
