Montenegro is a true gem of the Adriatic – it delights with pristine bays, historic towns, and luxurious marinas. Here are the most interesting and proven cruise routes – perfect for a week-long adventure under sail!
Route 1: Kotor → Portonovi Marina → Marina Lazure → Budva → Bar → Tivat → Kotor
Kotor – A UNESCO World Heritage site, surrounded by monumental mountains and the waters of the Bay of Kotor. Kotor's Old Town is a labyrinth of cobbled streets, Renaissance palaces and Gothic churches. It is especially worth climbing the defensive walls of St John's Fortress – the panorama from the top is breathtaking. At night the town comes alive, offering romantic restaurants and atmospheric bars hidden in the narrow alleys.
Budva – The entertainment capital of the Montenegrin coast. Known for its beaches, clubs and summer festivals, but also for its beautiful old town with defensive walls, charming squares and narrow streets. Budva is a place where history meets modernity – ideal for a longer stop for both history lovers and those seeking nightlife.
Bar A port city with a hint of the Orient. A little less known, but very authentic and worth visiting. The main attraction is Stari Bar – picturesque ruins of a medieval town nestled among the mountains, offering sea views. The region is also famous for its olive oil and local wine production – it's definitely worth a try!

Route 2: Tivat → Bar → Budva → Marina Lazure → Jamb Marina – Kotor → Tivat
Tivat – A modern and elegant resort with the Porto Montenegro marina – a symbol of luxury in the Balkans. It's an excellent place to start or end a cruise. The marina offers everything: yacht services, duty-free shopping, premium restaurants, and even a maritime museum and an exclusive spa.
Marina Lazure – Located by the historic building of a former Austrian fort. Marina Lazure combines elegance, tranquility, and incredible scenery of mountains descending to the sea. It's a place chosen by those looking for a more intimate atmosphere. The marina features restaurants with local cuisine, a spa, and a water sports centre.

Route 3: Tivat → Portonovi Marina → Marina Lazure → Kotor → Risan → Tivat
Portonovi Marina One of the most modern marinas in the region, located at the elegant Portonovi complex in Herceg Novi. This is a place with a touch of luxury. In addition to full infrastructure for sailors, you'll find shops of well-known brands, art galleries, and excellent restaurants.
Risan – A small, peaceful town with an extraordinary history – it was here that the oldest Roman mosaics in Montenegro were found. Risan is a great place for a quiet stop, a walk amidst nature, and a swim in crystal-clear water. Less commercial, more local, and very charming.

Route 4: Dubrovnik → Cavtat → Portonovi → Marina Lazure → Kotor → Tivat → Dubrovnik
Dubrovnik (Croatia) – The start/end of one of the most popular routes to Montenegro. The city impresses with its monumental defensive walls, cobbled streets, and rich history. Dubrovnik is one of the most beautiful places on the entire Adriatic – it's no wonder it's on the UNESCO list and was a filming location for „Game of Thrones”.
Cavtat (Croatia) Less crowded, but just as charming as Dubrovnik. Cavtat is a atmospheric town with a palm-lined promenade, tranquil coves, and beautiful views. The ideal first stop after sailing from Dubrovnik or the last before returning.
